A family is safe after becoming stuck in the snow on Bear Camp Road about 10 miles above Agness. Curry County Search and Rescue teams located the family after getting two phone calls from 22-year-old Kody Rosenstiel of Broadbent around 6 pm Sunday night. Rosenstiel had walked more than an hour to a remote location where he was able to get cell service. He, 23-year-old Miranda Davis, a two and three-year-old, and three dogs had become stranded in the snow earlier in the day. The four were in a Ford F-350 and reportedly had no supplies besides some food and water. The county\u2019s Search and Rescue Snow team were called to respond with the Sno-Cat. The team had to cut trees out of the roadway and move around a slide until they located the family around 10:25 pm. They were able to use a winch to get the vehicle moving again. Sheriff John Ward gave credit to the team operating the equipment, but also dispatchers who were able to pinpoint a general location essentially saving lives. Ward believes the Sno-Cat is invaluable in SAR operations that make it easier to cover larger areas in less time.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
