Nicholson is charged with killing four people at the Mill Casino RV Park and a marijuana dispensary in June last year. Stone recommended a competency exam be completed before allowing the request. He also told Nicholson by representing himself would be at a disadvantage. Court officials say the exam has not been scheduled. Because of issues surrounding COVID, it is not known when it be completed.
