Why are we still doing this since legislation was crafted by Oregon Senator Ron Wyden and several of his colleagues to end the practice of switching time? That action stalled in 2021.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Wyden’s office said this today – “Senator Wyden is still pressing for the Sunshine Protection Act so Oregonians aren\u2019t needlessly springing back and forth each year in an outmoded exercise that research shows are negative for everybody\u2019s health and our entire economy.”<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The bipartisan legislation, if enacted, would apply to states that currently participate in DST, which Oregon and most states observe for eight months out of the year. Standard Time, from November to March, is only observed for four months out of the year. The bill would simply negate the need for Americans to change their clocks twice a year.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
