The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has now issued a \u201cCall for Information\u201d (COI) to the public. The two areas are 13.8 miles offshore of Charleston and Brookings. Though those locations have been listed as possibilities the COI\u2019s are soliciting the public\u2019s comments regarding the potential locations the wind energy leasing. BOEM director Amanda Lefton says the COI\u2019s are important to identify potential areas that may be suitable for offshore wind energy leasing. The COI will be published in the Federal Register on Friday, April 29th however each call will initiate a separate comment period.
