According to the Oregon Health Authority, Coos County will move from Extreme to High Risk due to a decrease in COVID-19 cases. Starting April 9th businesses and recreation will have restrictions eased. Some indoor dining will be allowed as well as an increased capacity for several other activities during the Covid High-Risk Category. The county has been in the Extreme Risk Category since January 15th. Coos Health and Wellness remind the public that although we will be out of the extreme designation, we should continue working to get to lower levels by getting vaccinated, wearing a mask, social distancing, and washing hands, limit gatherings to smaller groups, and staying home when sick. The county currently has 100 Active cases over the last two weeks, one hospitalization and adding one death this week bringing the total to 30.
