Coos County will remain in the Low-Risk Covid Category. Coos Health and Wellness report that infection rates in Coos County remain at an all-time low citing vaccine distribution for the success. Coos County is currently at 55.2% with around 5200 more to hit the 65% percent golden number to relax almost all Covid restrictions. However, Dr. Eric Gleason says the state will likely hit 70% before we reach our goal. Governor Brown has stated that almost all current Covid restrictions will be relaxed when that number is reached. There was a warning of an increase in variant infections of those not vaccinated statewide but it is unknown which variant is causing the increase. Currently, there are 14 active cases in Coos County and 15 under monitoring.
