The Oregon Dungeness Crab Commission has reported that the first month of crab season has surpassed the entirety of last year. According to ODCC Executive Director Hugh Link, the Oregon Dungeness Crab Fleet has landed 12.8 million pounds of crab. He also stated that this is the first time in seven years that the season has started on time. This season the ex-vessel value has brought in 63.3 million dollars which surpassed the 60.6 million the previous year. Ocean Crab season runs from December 1st through August 14th with the peak harvest happening in the first eight weeks.
