Two people have been released from the Coos County Jail after being arrested on multiple charges including criminal child neglect. 25-year-old Haven Tre McCoy and 24-year-old Kali Nacona Flowers were arrested on Friday after a warrant was served at their home where a Clandestine Lab was located. A 3-year-old child at the home was taken into protective custody after a search warrant was served at a Coos Bay residence. The investigation stemmed from a Department of Homeland Security seizure of more than 20 kilos of product used to make the psychedelic drug DMT (N-Dimethyltryptamine) that was reportedly in route to the Coos Bay Area.
The substance had allegedly been mailed from Mexico to the residence located at 1816 Thomas Avenue where the warrant was served. South Coast Interagency Narcotics officials say an alleged Clandestine Lab used to extract DMT was located on the property. A team from Oregon State Police Crime Lab and US Ecology assisted with safely removing the suspected DMT Lab. Law Enforcement also seized suspected psilocybin mushrooms and LSD, firearms, currency, and other materials that could be used in manufacturing DMT. McCoy and Flowers were also charged with Unlawful Possession, Delivery, and Manufacture of a Controlled Substance. The child was evaluated at the hospital for signs of exposure to chemicals and remains in the custody of Child Protective Services.
