Road Construction on Johnson Avenue has traffic backing up. Construction is taking place in the north and southbound intersections of Highway 101 and the work taking place at night requires the two eastbound lanes on Johnson Avenue to be reduced down to one throughout the entire project. The Oregon Department of Transportation is asking those needing to turn left onto the northbound lane of Highway 101 to use an alternate route to ease congestion and reduce wait times. The project will include ADA ramps on all corners of the intersections, install a large curb extension on Broadway and create a dedicated left-hand turn from Johnson to Northbound Highway 101. The Johnson Avenue project started earlier this month and is scheduled to be completed at the end of June.
