City Mayors Shopping Spree to Benefit Bus Jam!

Northwest Natural has joined forces with local entities and South Coast Food Share to put food on the tables of families in need this holiday season. As part of the K-DOCK & Rotary Bus Jam Toy and Food Drive, Northwest Natural and McKays will kick off collection efforts across the Coos and Western Douglas Counties with a shopping spree on November 17th at 8:30 am in Coos Bay. North Bend Mayor Jessica Engelke and Coos Bay Mayor Joe Benetti will hit the aisles of McKays in Coos Bay, 149 S 7th St Coos Bay for a 90-second Shopping Spree. Spectators are encouraged to come and cheer on your favorite city. The Winner will receive the Golden Shopping Award.

  • Food Poundage will be stuffed on the respective city busses (Bi-Mart Coos Bay and North Bend) on December 4th.
  • Each year, the two cities vie for the coveted Bus Jam Trophy.
  • You can also make company and individual donations to help your city’s team.
  • Donation barrels will be available at the store to make purchases.

K-DOCK’s Mike The Bear will broadcast live from the event. Be sure to issue your challenge so we can Load The Bus and Fill the Need on December 4th  at the 20th Annual K-DOCK/Rotary Bus Jam & Bykes for Tykes Toy and Food Drive. Northwest Natural has supported a variety of community organizations such as SMART Reading, Rotary, Habitat for Humanity, Get Ready Disaster Preparedness events, Kids HOPE Center, and South Coast Food Share since arriving in the area in 2003. Northwest Natural feels a deep responsibility to the communities and people served.
