Coos Bay City Councilors will consider a change to the graffiti chapter of the city’s municipal code. The proposed changes come on the heels of an uptick in graffiti-related incidents in the city. It is also designed to meet requirements while being consistent with Oregon Revised Statutes. Since the September Council Work Session, city staff gathered graffiti ordinances from several Oregon Cities. The amendment includes various language changes that will provide personnel and law enforcement the tools they need to handle incidents of graffiti. The council meets tonight at 7 o’clock.
