Coos Bay City Councilors will review several planned wastewater and road improvement projects for summer and fall tonight. The Council and Urban Renewal Agencies will review four wastewater system and building upgrades at wastewater treatment plants one and two. They will also hear from engineers regarding four pump station upgrades and eight street rehabilitation projects when they meet in a work session. In addition, the councilors will discuss the establishment of a multi-unit tax exemption program to fuel development of higher density housing projects. The model may provide solutions to the housing crisis in the local area after it was deemed a “severely rent burdened” city by DLCD.
