Coos County Commissioner Melissa Cribbins says the state has not yet released if Coos County will remain in the Extreme Category because of COVID cases. However, Coos Health and Wellness posted a graphic on their Facebook Page that shows Coos County’s COVID infections at a little over 297 per 100-thousand. The county would have to be under 200 to move down to High Risk. The state reportedly pulled the COVID numbers today, however, the weather emergency has delayed word back to the county. Cribbins says though authorities have not made the official call, it is likely the county will be at Extreme for another two weeks if numbers today are any indication. Commissioners still hope to hear from the state today. The designation has significant impacts to businesses operating in the county.
