Coos Health and Wellness also reported multiple outbreaks and another death in Coos County. Fred Meyer currently has 12 cases and Coos Bay Toyota with six cases. There are also at least 10 to 15 non-reportable businesses and churches under contact tracing at this time. The latest reportable outbreaks are in the early stages of contact tracing so numbers could go higher. Coos County’s most recent death was a 78-year-old woman who died at Mercy Medical Center on February 28th and brings the total to 20 since the beginning of the pandemic. In the latest data, Coos County saw confirmed cases increase to 335 per 100-thousand keeping the county in “Extreme” risk. That’s just 15 cases away from sending schools back to Comprehensive Distance Learning according to CHW’s Dr. Eric Gleason.
