After the state pulled Coronavirus numbers following a warning week, Coos County will remain at “extreme” through the 25th. That’s according to Commissioner Melissa Cribbins who indicated she was notified Monday evening that the county had not lowered infections enough to move down in the state’s metrics. State officials will reassess on the 25th. 33 counties in the state have reported a decrease in infections while only three counties are continuing an upward trend including Coos. COVID-19 infection metrics have risen considerably over the last few weeks from 202.3 per 100,000 to 284.4. According to Coos Health and Wellness, there have been 38 new infections since February 5th.
