The Coos County Major Crimes Team is investigating a death at a residence off Cape Arago Highway in the Barview area just outside of Coos Bay City limits. Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a home off Robertson Lane around 7:20 pm (tonight) Saturday night. According to District Attorney Paul Frasier, an elderly woman was found deceased inside the home. Frasier said he is unable to identify the cause of death but suspects it was homicidal violence. A suspect is in custody however charges were not identified. Frasier says the scene is being secured tonight and the investigation will continue tomorrow. He will be working on a search warrant and anticipates the Oregon State Police Crime Lab will be called in to process the home. This is a developing story.
