The Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Elliott State Forest for a report of a possible pipe bomb on April 11th. Once in the area deputies located what appeared to be a live explosive device and contacted the Oregon State Police Explosive Unit. Deputies secured the area until detectives arrived to destroy the device. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public that if you find a suspicious device to leave it in the place it was found and contact the police.
