Fire Season Begins Friday, June 4th

Fire season begins Friday, June 4th at 12:01 AM. Coos Forest Protective Association says fire season restricts both public and industrial forest use of all public, private, county, state, and bureau of land Management lands. Outside burning in Coos, Curry, and Western Douglas counties will be prohibited until fire season is terminated. Residents living within an incorporated city need to contact the local fire department for burning restrictions. CFPA says that the use of tracer ammunition and exploding targets are prohibited during fire season. They remind that as fire season progresses additional closures and restrictions may be added as weather conditions and fire danger become more severe.
