Indictment Handed Down for NB Road Rage Death

A Coos County Grand Jury has returned a secret indictment against 40-year-old Joshua James Thompson, formerly of Coquille, who was taken into custody on a warrant service at a Coos Bay motel on February 2nd. He was a person of interest in the death of 28-year-old Michael Moore on December 27th. Moore died of crushing injuries to his chest and abdomen after being struck by an SUV. Investigators say the death was allegedly part of a road rage incident that took place through several residential areas in North Bend. The grand jury returned the secret indictment on Friday charging Thompson with Second Degree Murder and Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver to Injured Persons. 22 witnesses testified at the hearing. Thompson was arraigned on the indictment this afternoon before Judge Martin Stone in Coos County Circuit Court. Security is set at $2-million dollars. The next court date is March 22nd.
