***North Bend Library Receives Grant for a qualified health professional***
The North Bend Public Library received a grant that will embed a qualified mental health professional in several Coos County Libraries. It will be a one-year pilot project that will allow a mental health professional or social worker to provide direct support during office hours at the North Bend, Coos Bay, and Lakeside Public Libraries. Social Workers will provide support services on a drop-in basis at each of the three libraries. The program is made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the State Library of Oregon. The program is set to begin in early fall.
