The Bureau of Land Management is near reopening the Loon Lake Recreation Area. Though they will not open for the Fourth of July, BLM officials say there is plans to open portions of the site in July. The site will open in phases once enough water is stored to operate the basic facilities, like flushing toilets. According to officials they expect to open for weekend day use first to ensure the water and sewer system function properly with increased use. The plan to open full-week day use and camping will come in phases. Currently there is no projected date for when camping will reopen this summer.
