Man Arrested After Stolen Property Found in Wagon

Man arrested after a citizen observed him pulling a wagon full of property. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office was contacted on January 25th by a citizen who knew the property owner of where the man pulling the wagon was out of the area. Upon arrival, deputies contacted 31-year-old Scott Peterson and began an investigation. It was found that Peterson was walking away from a residence on Woodruff Lane that had been burglarized with alleged contained property from the residence. A search warrant was also applied to search the wagon. Officials say property from the burglarized address was recovered as well as a firearm. Peterson was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail on charges of First-Degree Burglary, First-Degree Theft, and a probation violation. In addition to those charges, he will also be charged with Second Degree Burglary and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Authorities say the investigation is continuing.
