A Lakeside man has died after his vehicle struck a disabled semi on the shoulder near Lakeside. 77-year-old Frank Martinez was driving his pickup on Highway 101 when his vehicle traveled onto the shoulder and crashed into the commercial motor vehicle with two double trailers. Oregon State Police say the CMV had reportedly become disabled on the northbound shoulder of the highway just south of Lakeside. It was operated by 50-year-old Anthony Prom of Seattle, Washington. Investigators say Martinez sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Prom was not injured. The accident was reported at 7:15 pm on Thursday night.
