NB Hosts Virtual Town Hall on Homeless Camping

The City of North Bend is seeking guidance from citizens as it grapples with how to address the growing homeless issues within the city. The city is hosting a virtual town hall tonight to share information about state and federal mandates affecting the community.  City officials also hope to look at the public’s ideas for regulating the time, manner, and place where a homeless overnight camp could be placed within the city. One of the locations identified is a city-owned parking lot at the community center. However, it has met with public scrutiny since it is adjacent to the Clyde Allan Ball Park and near the Coos County Youth Sports Soccer Field.  The Virtual Town Hall starts at 6:00 pm and is available for viewing on the city’s YouTube page.  The link to register to speak is on the city’s Facebook event as well as the city’s website.
