Person of Interest in Road Rage Death in Custody

Coos County Community Corrections and Coos Bay Police have taken a person of interest in the death investigation of a North Bend man into custody. 40-year-old Joshua James Thompson last known to have lived in Coquille is being held on an alleged parole violation warrant. Thompson was located in a room at the Super 8 Motel in Coos Bay this afternoon. No Charges have been filed in regards to the death of 28-year-old Michael David Moore. Moore died from severe crushing injuries to his chest and upper abdomen after he was run over in what law enforcement say was a road rage incident. Moore was allegedly walking away from the SUV that allegedly struck him after he exited his vehicle and confronted the driver in a North Bend residential neighborhood.  Thompson was being sought as a person of interest. The death and incident remain under investigation. Thompson is being held at the Coos County Jail.
