Pharmacies Help Ease Public Health Vaccination Schedule

Coos Health and Wellness is receiving about 22-hundred COVID vaccines each week which is increasing the number of people vaccinated. To date, 14-thousand-200 doses have been delivered. That means around 57-hundred people have a vaccination in progress and over 42-hundred county citizens have been fully vaccinated. CHW’s Dr. Eric Gleason says he is certain there is nothing else that could be done to ensure vaccines are going into arms. He did encourage anyone who is still waiting to be vaccinated to sign up online at www.cooshealthandwellness.org as well as at local pharmacies. Gleason says CHW is working from the top down from the list using vulnerability metrics. Pharmacies are working within all statewide guidelines for eligibility. He adds Bi-Mart and Fred Meyer are set to go live with vaccinations soon. Safeway, Walgreens, and others are already scheduling appointments. Bay Area Hospital is also booking COVID vaccination appointments. Coos County has 234 active cases. There are 1414 confirmed and 243 presumptive cases. 440 people are under monitoring. That is down from Tuesday.
