North Bend High School Science Teacher Jennifer Hampel has been named the South Coast Education Service District’s Regional Teacher of the Year. This makes her a candidate for the 2022 Oregon Teacher of the year. According to Superintendent Kevin Bogatin, it was Hampel’s ability to demonstrate a commitment to students while engaging them in hands-on learning experiences that makes her the perfect honoree. Regional Teachers of the Year are nominated by students, administrators, friends, colleagues, or family members. With the honor, she receives $500 in cash and will be running for the Oregon Teacher of the Year honor. That will be announced in the fall.
