Shutter Creek Correctional Institution will receive doses of the COVID-19 Moderna vaccine. Department of Corrections Communications Manager, Jennifer Black said the allotment will be based on the vulnerability of the Adults in Custody population and the size of the institution. The DOC received five-thousand vaccines to be distributed to all 14 of the prisons. Vaccination clinics will begin on Wednesday. Every Adult in Custody will have an appointment where they can choose to get the vaccination or not. The DOC will give COVID vulnerable Adults in Custody the option to get the vaccination first, then they will move on to the others based on extenuating factors.
