***State Police: Guard Rail Impales Truck/Driver Extricated***

Oregon State Police are investigating a single-vehicle accident near Hauser north of North Bend that resulted in serious injuries to the driver and closed one lane of Highway 101. 37-year-old Rory M. Henderson was the only person in a Toyota Tundra that reportedly left the roadway and went head-on into a guard rail. The rail went through the passenger compartment and entrapped the driver inside the vehicle. People staying at the nearby campground reportedly heard the crash and came to the aid of Henderson. OSP troopers say he was conscious and breathing when he was extricated by fire and rescue crews from Hauser and North Bay. He was then taken to Bay Area Hospital and transferred to Riverbend in Eugene. Authorities say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. A search warrant will be written and presented to a judge for evidence collection. The accident happened around 2:30 Saturday morning. (Photo Credit: North Bay Fire District)
