Two Arrested After Eluding Police in Multiple Counties

A large truck dark in color towing a flatbed with a white sedan on it was located by Oregon State Troopers who attempted to flatten the tires with spike strips after it had eluded officers from Florence and Reedsport yesterday early in the morning. The truck continued southbound allegedly reaching speeds over 90 miles per hour. Multiple agencies responded and deputies from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office were able to locate and pursue the truck as it continued into North Bend. North Bend Officers were able to successfully deploy a set of spikes deflating most of the tires rendering it inoperable. The truck stopped on property owned by Coos Bay-North Bend Waterboard and the occupants fled on foot. The truck was discovered to be stolen out of Washington County and makeshift weapons, suspected Methamphetamine and Heroin, several stolen credit and debit cards, mail and checks were allegedly located in the two stolen vehicles. Coos County K9’s Raven and Odin were deployed, and the search of the area lasted around eight hours. People in the area called in suspicious subjects who later turned out to be the driver and passenger of the truck. The suspects, 27-year-old Kendra E. Schratz and 23-year-old Bryce L. Adams were arrested and transported to Florence with the assistance of Oregon State Police. Both will be charged in other counties for multiple counts of identity theft and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
