Coast Guard Sector North Bend received a call from a person around two PM regarding two people who were stranded on a cliff near Cape Arago State Park. They also stated that one had sustained an ankle injury and required assistance. The Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter was conducting training nearby and diverted to respond. The two hikers were hoisted and transported to Bay Area Hospital. The US Coast Guard urges mariners and hikers to always carry means of communication in case of emergency.
