***HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 11 AM SUNDAY***
The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a High Wind Warning in effect from 2 AM to 11 AM Sunday. Expect south winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph. The warning area includes South Central Oregon Coast and Curry County Coast, including Pistol River, Gold Beach, Port Orford, Charleston, exposed portions of Highway 101, and all capes and headlands.
IMPACTS…Damaging winds could blow down trees and damage power lines and will blow around loose or unsecured objects. Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
***HIGH SURF WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM SUNDAY TO 5 AM TUESDAY***
Expect dangerously large breaking waves of 28 to 35 feet on South Central Oregon Coast and Curry County Coast from 7 PM Sunday to 5 AM Tuesday.
* IMPACTS…Extremely large breaking waves will create very hazardous conditions along beaches and area shorelines. Waves will inundate beaches and surge into normally dry areas. Infrastructure damage and significant beach erosion can be expected.
